About

Jennifer Schoen

With a background in classroom teaching, data coordination, reading intervention, and testing coordination, I work with schools at the intersection of what the numbers say and what students actually need, and I believe those two things, done well, always point in the same direction.

The name Schoen Reflective carries a quiet nod to Donald Schön's theory of reflective practice: the idea that professional knowledge is built in action, refined through careful observation, and deepened through honest inquiry. That is how I work with schools.

I am based in Gunnison, Colorado and work with school communities in Arizona and beyond, both on-site and remotely.

What I do

Every school deserves someone who understands both the data and the people it represents. Schoen Reflective offers hands-on, collaborative support across six core areas.

Testing Coordination

On-site coordination of state and benchmark assessments. Scheduling, logistics, accommodations, communication with staff and families, handled with care and without the chaos.

Data Coordination and Reporting

Translating assessment results into clear, actionable reports for teachers, administrators, and boards. MAP, DIBELS, state assessments, and custom reporting for your school's specific needs.

Intervention Support

Remote and on-site support for building and sustaining intervention systems in K–8. Identifying students, matching supports, tracking progress, and keeping it manageable for teachers.

Staff Development and Instructional Leadership

Professional learning that is grounded in your school's own data and context. Facilitation, coaching, and collaborative inquiry built around the people in the room.

Benchmark Testing and Progress Monitoring

On-site administration of benchmark assessments and progress monitoring for local schools in the Gunnison Valley. Reliable, consistent data collection so your team can focus on what it does with the results.

English Language Proficiency Assessment

Coordination and administration of English language proficiency assessments for multilingual learners, including AZELLA in Arizona and WIDA ACCESS in Colorado. Support across all four domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with attention to accommodations and compliance requirements.

Approach

How I work

I believe that data, at its best, is a form of listening. A score is a moment in time; a trend is a story; a pattern across classrooms is a conversation waiting to happen. My job is to help schools have that conversation well.

I do not come in with a predetermined program or a packaged solution. I come in with questions, careful attention, and the technical knowledge to turn what your assessments are telling you into something your team can actually use.

The work is relational. Schools that know their data and trust each other can move mountains. I am here to help build both.
